Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to transport goods to various locations in a timely manner. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes efficiently and communicate with dispatch to ensure updates on ETA, traffic, and routing. Load and unload cargo, maintaining secure loads and accurate inventory. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Report defects, accidents, or violations and handle documentation necessary for reporting. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers and peers. Skilled in operating CDL Class A vehicles safely and efficiently. Ability to manage time effectively for deliveries and communications. Strong organizational skills for handling paperwork and cargo tracking. Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and maintenance procedures.
