Pay: $22 to $25 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours
Contract Duration: 4 Months Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the
Position The histotechnician will perform all routine and special
paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art,
CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Senior
or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic
material within established turnaround times. Work hours will be
from 9 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Friday morning. Position
Responsibilities: Embeds, cuts, stains, and performs other tasks
required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
Performsan accurate gross description of tissue samples. Perform
quality control procedures established for each method and maintain
accurate records. Operates all instruments/ equipment according to
accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies
instrument/ equipment problems. Meets acceptable turnaround time
and productivity standards for the section. Recognizes testing
errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate
personnel; assists in problem resolution. Record, transcribe, and
maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent
and abnormal results. Review the accuracy and completeness of
results before releasing them in the Laboratory Information System.
Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time
guidelines. Requirements Required: Associate degree in medical
technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science. Formal
training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours). State
Licensure, where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing. Meets
CLIA personnel standard criteria.Skills in microtomy, grossing,
processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining
techniques.2-4 years of experience
