Position Details:
Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Middletown, OH (Cincinnati/Dayton). Travel: None
Shift: Monday-Friday daytime position, typically 6am or 7am start
working an 8-hour day.
Compensation: $85K-$95K starting base salary + straight time O/T
pay + target 15% bonus incentive plan of your base salary paid
quarterly based on safety, quality, environmental plant performance
& company profit (often paid out well above target, this past
quarter paid out at 128% of the target) + eligible annual pay
increases based on performance reviews + full relocation.

Position Description: The Company Middletown plant is a flagship
plant and one of the largest company operates, producing rolled
coiled steel primarily for the automotive and consumer appliance
industries and markets. The Electrical Engineer ensures the
reliability of electrical controls and automation equipment by
supporting electrical maintenance and controls (EM&C) with
troubleshooting and improvement projects. Key responsibilities
include:
--- Contribute toward the development and continuous improvement of
equipment. Develop and execute the implementation of long- and
short-term improvement plans.
--- Utilize appropriate failure analysis techniques to determine
root causes of failures and initiates necessary corrective action
to eliminate/reduce such failures.
--- Develop understanding or existing PLC programs on all
equipment. Program and implement PLC modifications as corrective
actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
--- Provide engineering in the daily support in troubleshooting and
resolving problems (afterhours as required) with PLCs with various
supporting instrumentation & motor speed control devices.
--- Perform program, configure and tune both PLCs and motor (AC and
DC) drives in relation to manufacturing process control
systems.
--- Work closely with Project Engineering and Maintenance teams to
ensure drawings are updated with equipment modifications and
productivity, provides counsel for equipment redesign and
performance.
--- Coordinates requirements, standards, and procedures for the
operations of the equipment.
Requirements: Candidates must have a Bachelor of Electrical
Engineering (EE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) degree
with some early career direct experience in hands-on electrical
maintenance work and a strong interest in electrical circuitry,
manufacturing processes and software/hardware/machine interfaces.
This is a very hands-on role interacting with maintenance teams and
part of troubleshooting team. Candidates should have some exposure
to PLCs, which are a heavy component of the role. Candidates must
fit with industrial steelmaking and have a real "blue collar"
approach, desiring to be out on the floor and "rolling up their
sleeves" to do the hands-on work in an exciting, structured, but
dynamic and demanding environment. Candidates must have excellent
decision-making, planning, coordination, strong organization and
effective communication, and a focused top-priority on safety.
