Job Description Production Assistant/Machine Operator Light Manufacturer Middletown, OH Starting pay is a minimum of $17-18/hr DOE, Temp to Hire - increase in pay rate when hired. Experience will determine starting rate. JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The position of Production Assistant/Machine Operator will operate a cored wire machine and provide preventive maintenance when needed. This position's primary function is to feed materials into the machine. This position works in the production department. MIG welding experience is a plus, not required. Forklift experience required Welding, basic experience required POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK The machine operator is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. The job may have occasional overtime or be requested to work weekends. Starting pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The machine operator job is a Temp to Hire position. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE --- Completed High School diploma or Technical/Vocational School equivalent --- Ability to operate a machine and all related equipment --- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift. (required) --- Ability to operate an overhead crane (Preferable, not required) --- Have mechanical skills, basic electrical knowledge, welding experience (Preferable, not required) --- Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferable, not required) PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. --- The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. --- This position requires frequent lifting up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
