The Specialty Claims Team Lead provides support to the Specialty Claims AVP in building and sustaining Tower Hill Specialty claim team(s). Includes delivering and supporting excellent customer service standards, file quality standards and maintaining all production goals for Tower Hill Specialty Claims. The Specialty Claims Team Lead coordinates the activities of designated Specialty staff, including claim reviews, providing claim direction and guidance, letter reviews and supports other teams handling Tower Hill Specialty claims, and may supervise third party employees. Primary function is serving between front line staff and AVP in addition to some retained claim handling duties. The Specialty Claims Team Lead will continuously develop claims representatives, identify and lead process improvement initiatives, and when needed interact with Tower Hill Specialty product, sales and underwriting teams. This position is open to applicants in the Cincinnati OH, Lexington, KY and Gainesville, FL areas.Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages file development with direct involvement as needed.
  • Complies with Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Complies with and enforces departmental guidelines.
  • Responsible for performance of staff/vendors and ensures that company objectives are met.
  • Studies and standardizes guidelines to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for quality and conformance to guidelines.
  • Maintains harmony among staff as well as vendors and resolves grievances.
  • Communicates effectively with their staff and others.
  • Responds to customer, agency, and regulatory issues.
  • Handles claims as designated by the AVP, subject to claims handling essential duties, responsibilities and guidelines.
  • Operates in accordance with all state compliance, regulations and statutes as well as all other relevant laws, rules, etc.
  • Assists with recruitment, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new employees.
  • Assists with training and development of new employees, current employees, and contract staff, when needed.
  • Participates in catastrophe management.
  • Other duties may be assigned as determined by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Will directly supervise and/or coordinate a designated team of claim adjusters. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Other specific supervisory duties specific to claims handling apply.       • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent professional education and experience combined;
      • Minimum of five (5+) years in the P&C claims industry, preferably with related adjusting experience, and minimum of one (1+) year of relevant leadership experience.
