PCU is a 32 private-bed Progressive Care Nursing unit that
serves a variety of complex medical, surgical, respiratory,
neurological and/or cardiac problems. Diagnoses include but are not
limited to cardiac arrhythmias, general surgery, CHF, uncomplicated
MI, angina, COPD, respiratory failure (stable long term
ventilation), pneumonia, stroke, diabetes, DKA, GI bleeds, CVA,
seizures and/or cardiac history, and renal failure patients.
Placement of patients is determined by the severity of illness, at
either the Intermediate care/ Progressive care level.
The PCU rooms have advanced technology in each room. The unit is
very proud of its healthy work environment based on the AACN
Standards. All team members participate in self-scheduling,
encouraging an optimal work life balance.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to
patients within an assigned unit. Professional nursing practices,
requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed
using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedure and

preferred. Must have current licensure or eligibility from the
Delaware Board of Nursing or compact state. Must have an active CPR
card from the American Heart Association (BLS). ACLS certification
