Part-time & Full-time Cafe Location: Clay Terrace, Carmel Clay Library and Midtown Pay: $13/hour Tips Job Type: Non-Exempt HIGHLIGHTS/OPPORTUNITIES In-depth training and development program Discount on Java House coffee and other items Coffee on us while on shift Accrued PTO Upward mobility at a growing company Internship opportunities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Craft coffee, tea, or food items based on customer order Manage small team of Baristas on shift by ensuring Barista team is setup to provide Java House experience for customers Assist in handle escalated customer interactions Provide an energetic and uplifting experience for team and customers Educate and inform customers of differences between roasts, types of coffee, and other product Operate and manage cash register and card payment systems Effectively communicate with coworkers and customers Cash handling – consolidating tips into the cash drawer, counting, and balancing the cash drawer after each shift, recognizing counterfeit moneys Equipment troubleshooting – should be knowledgeable about all equipment used, and capable of basic troubleshooting Complaint resolution – handling guest feedback in a productive and positive way Product integrity – managing the rotation, expiration, and changing over of all products to ensure all product is excellent Upholding Java House policies and procedures Inventory Management Managing Labor – ensuring shift is running smoothly and working through all priorities (including but not limited to customer support, cleaning, cash management, inventory management, additional store manager direction, etc) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Maintain regular attendance Availability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays Meet store operating policies and standards Engage with and understand our customers Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Ability to build relationships Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a team Ability to work in fast-paced environment Java House is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse work team.
