Surgical First Assistant Location: Middletown, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,306 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assistant Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Surgical First Assistant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience preferred License: Current CPR required Certifications: CST, BLS Must-Have: - Diploma from an accredited Surgical Assistant program or equivalent experience - Preferred educational qualifications: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Military Training - Previous charge experience (2 years) - Experience with Epic charting system - Required trauma level I experience Description: The Surgical Assistant will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients based on established standards. The Surgical Assistant will collaborate with the surgeon to perform operative procedures safely with optimal patient outcomes. The Surgical Assistant will provide assistance to healthcare providers, including Registered Nurses and anesthesia staff. The Surgical Assistant will also orient and train new team members. The position involves participation in complex cases and involvement in performance improvement projects. The Surgical Assistant will work under the license and direct supervision of the surgeon.
