the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis,

Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients
hospitalized in a health services unit or housed in a
state-operated facility. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms,
reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes
and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed
medications and ordered treatment plans or immunizations. Monitors
patients who may be on restraints and provides immediate medical
attention in emergencies. Arranges transportation to emergency
rooms and contacts physicians when necessary. Counsels patients
regarding the need for medical referrals. Participates in staff
development and education by reviewing care plans and training new
employees. Responsible for evaluating and rendering care needed for
bedridden patients. Makes care plans and teaches healthcare
principles. Administers medications, including narcotics, and
renders all direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized
procedures including IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy,
dialysis, blood transfusion, and CPR. Organizes and oversees
emergency response teams as needed. Acts as lead worker in charge
of assigned shifts in the absence of higher-level staff. Performs
clerical tasks, including charting and recording medications and
treatments. Completes required reports, documents information, and
maintains inventory of controlled substances. Arranges for
outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations. Performs
administrative tasks and serves as a liaison within the
organization. Conducts and attends meetings as required. Serves as
an instructor or member of problem-solving teams when needed.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations and policies related to
nursing is essential. Ability to gather, collate, and classify
information about data, people, or things is required. Requirements
