Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: IN or compact license in hand for start dates 2-4 weeks out; must have started the licensing process for start dates 4 weeks out Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS; Preferred NIH, TNCC Must-Have: Must have at least level 2 trauma experience. Candidates must be willing to work charge. Floating is 100% required for all travelers. Description: This is a trauma center with 48 beds that can flex up to 62 beds total using hall beds if needed. The facility never staffs more than a 1:4 ratio for regular ED patients. Hold assignments could include a ratio of 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds. The emergency department averages 6.6 behavioral health patients per day. Candidates must be comfortable moving forward with the described requirements. The required skill set includes interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CPAP/BiPAP, managing ventilated patients, and knowledge of isolation precautions. Local residents are considered local travelers and are not accepted for certain positions. Two supervisor references are required for candidates. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. All candidates must float within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals nearby as needed.
