Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step
Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours
(19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in a large hospital;
level 1 preferred will accept level 2 experience License: Any state
RN license ok; can apply for temp license on offer takes 5-10 days,
compact license now accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS required;
NIH preferred Must-Have: Must have EPIC experience; must have vent
experience Description: High acuity, fast-paced step-down unit.
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6. Pass an
online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the
assignment. EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours
of signing contract. Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working
in high-risk respiratory unit unless PAPR is offered/needed.
Travelers will be the first to float at discretion of the unit.
Floating may occur in and out of specialty clusters. Assigned to a
medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team
of the unit floated to. Includes high-risk respiratory unit and
COVID care. Daily average census is 31. Needs good time management
skills. Excellent critical thinking skills required. Cardiac
monitor interpretation and ventilator/trach experience required.
Must be able to manage chest tubes, drains. NIH Stroke
Certification and experience with cardiac drips required. Patient
population includes DKA, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, stroke, sepsis,
and urology complications. RTO requests must accompany the initial
submittal. No RTO will be added after the offer. No more than 14
days of RTO are allowed. References are not required. Locals are
not accepted for any RN specialty positions.
