Registered Nurse/Oncology Chemo Certified: Duration:13 Weeks
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 -
07:30) Description: Chemo-Certified Oncology Registered Nurse
provides specialized care to cancer patients undergoing
chemotherapy and other treatments. They safely administer
chemotherapy, monitor for adverse reactions, and manage side
effects. These nurses educate patients and families about treatment
plans and emotional support. They collaborate with oncologists to
ensure comprehensive, compassionate care. If you accept a 12D/N
rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a
combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift
assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but
changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at
that time. Experience: Must have MS and oncology experience in
checklist (1 year minimum) Patient Diagnoses: • Acute Lymphoblastic
Leukemia (ALL) • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult) • Amyloidosis •
Aplastic Anemia • Chronic Leukemia • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
(CLL) • Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia • Hodgkin's Lymphoma
• Multiple Myeloma • Myelodysplastic Syndrome • Myeloproliferative
Disorders • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Special Procedures/Unit Details:
• Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells. •
Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their
identical twin. • Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem
cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor. • CAR-T
Therapy Certifications Required: • Basic Life Support (BLS) •
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification Oncology
Certified Preferred Certifications: • Advanced Cardiovascular Life
Support (ACLS) Skills Required: • MS/Tele
(Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) • Telemetry monitoring •
Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Use of Rapid Response Teams •
Feeding tube care and management • Blood product administration •
Central line blood draw • Peripheral line care/management • PICC
