Competitive Insights and Strategy team provides critical strategic
insights of the external environment to inform pipeline decisions
and shape the future of our portfolio. The Senior Director,
Competitive Insights and Strategy will integrate complex
scientific, technical, business, and market information to generate
actionable competitive insights and strategic recommendations for
teams, decision makers, and leaders. Responsibilities: In this
role, you will serve as Lilly Research Labs’ trusted expert on the
external landscape for drug discovery and development platforms and
emerging innovation. You will also deliver broad, enterprise level
competitive insights across therapeutic areas—both within and
beyond Lilly’s core focus—and offer informed insights on key
international markets. Serve as the expert on external drug
discovery and development platforms and technologies, anticipating
competitive shifts to guide strategic priorities and decisions
Conduct comprehensive company and industry pipeline analyses, both
within and outside Lilly's current therapeutic areas, to identify
opportunities, assess risks, and guide portfolio prioritization
Provide tailored insights on priority global markets to inform
Lilly’s R&D strategy Build strong relationships with R&D
leadership, therapeutic area and functional teams in order to
translate insights into actionable recommendations, influence
complex technical and business decisions, and enable
differentiation strategies Deliver high-impact portfolio reviews
and presentations that simplify complexity and drive strategic
decision-making Lead the successful delivery of complex
initiatives, while championing technical and scientific excellence,
strategic insight, and a culture of collaboration and innovation
Communicate key insights and implications across governance
committees and leadership forums Basic Qualifications: Four-year
degree in an engineering or scientific discipline 10 years of
pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience with experience
in drug discovery and/or development Additional Skills/Preferences:
Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MS or the equivalent) in an
engineering, scientific, health-related, or business field Deep
intellectual curiosity and a passion for advancing knowledge in
cutting-edge science and technologies and emerging or novel
therapeutic areas. Thrives in ambiguity and confidently navigates
situations without precedent Proven ability to evaluate
technologies and platforms across diverse modalities, including
oligonucleotide therapeutics and genetic medicines In-depth
experience analyzing the biotech and pharmaceutical competitive
landscape across key Asian markets, particularly China Strong
strategic thinking and business acumen, including experience in
discovery, drug development, business strategy, and influencing
leadership decisions Exceptional communication skills, capable of
synthesizing and conveying complex technical concepts into
actionable insights for diverse audiences, while representing the
organization internally and externally Demonstrated success leading
high-impact initiatives and team execution while building strong
relationships with global stakeholders and collaborating
effectively across time zones and cultures Additional Information:

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $169,500 -
$248,600 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate
in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits;
eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug
