Position Title: Senior NPD Electrical Engineer Reports To: NPD
Engineering Manager Location: PSG Cincinnati FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary: PSG Cincinnati's Senior NPD Electrical Engineer
works directly with the Global New Product Development Team based
in Cincinnati, OH and is responsible for the development of
assigned New Product development and Sustaining Engineering
projects. This role delivers high quality, innovative, and market
leading designs of chemical dispensers and similar products.
Additional responsibilities include:
- On time project delivery
- Provision of cost-effective designs
- Design for manufacturability
- Design to product specifications
- Electronics Project Planning Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Provide electronic technical direction and planning to internal
and external engineers throughout the design, development,
construction and launch phases of New Product Development and
Sustaining Engineering products.
- Demonstrated experience taking products from concept prototype
to production, including:
- Specify and implement electrical architecture for custom
controls
- Organizing Regulatory, i.e. UL, CE, CSA, etc.
- Verification, Validation & Debug complex systems
- Effectively communicate technical information both orally and
in writing with product management, contractors, and
colleagues.
- Using strong analytical and experimental skills, with
demonstrated ability to plan and conduct technical tasks to solve
engineering problems.
- Mentor other electrical engineers.
- Support the development and integration of test equipment and
test software to support product verification / validation
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, or similar Degree.
- 2 -3+ years current experience as project engineer or product
engineer in a new product development or full development lifecycle
for embedded control projects
- A total of 8+ years engineering experience encompassing
foundational knowledge in the following:
- Experience in hardware design with schematic capture, component
selection, and PCB layout, Altium experience is desired.
- Knowledge of any or all hardware designs and communication
interfaces including but not limited to: PWM control, I2C, SPI,
UART, Modbus, USB, 1394, CAN, Ethernet, etc.
- Experience with designing and writing embedded code for a wide
range of electrical controllers and experience with various
compilers and debugging tools
- Experience with C, C++, C#, or Visual Studio to develop code
for PIC, Atmel, Freescale TI, RP and other ARM-based
microprocessors.
- Creative thinking and innovation
- Great interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team
setting.
