The Financial Planning & Analysis function provides business
leaders and executive management insightful and actionable guidance
that helps Liberty Bank achieve its Strategic Plan. Reporting to
the VP & LOB Finance Manager, this role is a vital step in the
continued growth of the FP&A function at Liberty Bank.This
position will create, implement and manage the holistic Accounting
and financial support for the Digital Bank within Liberty Bank - in
essence a "CFO" for the Digital Bank. This position will be
responsible for all Accounting and FP&A processes related to
the Digital Bank - including monthly reporting of earnings,
variance analysis, KPI/Operational & Financial metric development &
analysis, ad-hoc analysis, annual Operating Budget and Forecast
preparation, Strategic Plan, and tracking performance vs. Strategic
Plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consult with Digital Bank Leadership, identifying key insights,
risks and opportunities
- Proactively provide recommendations for operating performance
improvement
- Oversee and lead the preparation of Monthly Business Reviews
(MBR's) for the Digital Bank
- Lead the monthly earnings cycle for the Digital Bank
- Analyze financial and non-financial monthly results, trends and
operational metrics/KPI's
- Partner with Digital Banking team to determine appropriate
monthly GL entries
- Prepare monthly reporting package for the Digital Bank
including variance analysis vs. Budget, Forecast, and Strategic
Plan
- Build profitability and operational models for Digital Bank,
and create ad-hoc analysis to uncover deeper insights into Digital
Bank performance
- Lead the annual Operating Budget and Strategic Planning process
for the Digital Bank
- In partnership with Digital Bank Leadership, develop key
assumptions and prepare the driver based annual operating budget,
as well as Strategic Plan
- Prepare pro-forma analysis and Forecast updates on a periodic
basis
- Actively lead and participate in Finance related special
projectsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced degree or
certification preferred
- 10 - 15 years Financial Management Reporting experience in a
Bank or Financial Services environment, including leadership
experience
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and leading Finance
processes, including monthly close, Annual Budget, Quarterly
Forecasting and Strategic Planning processes
- Deep understanding of Bank balance sheets, revenue drivers, and
reporting methodologies including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), and
business line cost allocations
- Significant experience partnering with C-Suite Executives. A
seasoned professional with poise and presence while interacting
with Executives.
- Relevant experience supporting Digital/Technology divisions
strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking - demonstrated ability to provide insightful
recommendations to C-Suite Executives
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Advanced data management skills. Comfortable mining, managing
and reporting large sets of operational and financial data.
- Expert Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
skills
- Experience utilizing Management Reporting & Budgeting
